why wouldn't you try to train both at once if they're both ready? Of course they may not both be ready, in which case go with the one who's ready and leave the other for later. whoever isn't ready will make it pretty obvious.

oh, umm, you do realize you'll need two potties, right?

I did mine together, they were ready together though. If one was ready and not the other I would have gone ahead and hoped peer pressure would do the job Very Happy

I don't think you CAN do it separately with twins! With mine, the problem was that as soon as I sat one on the potty the other would be stripping naked and then trying to pull his brother off so HE could get on. Sorry if TMI, but they were really happy when they discovered they could go at the same time by standing. lol

Duh. Maybe we ought to do a poll to see how many parents of twins had only one potty? (a toilet-adapter insert is an acceptable substitute for one of the two potties).

seriously, we used a potty not just for training but all the way until the kid was big enough to get on and off the throne himself, and even later, for "busy" times.

We had a seat that goes over the toilet and a potty. I don't really remember there being issues with them wanting to go at once. We haven't used the potty here in years (since Rivka trained), but it was handy in NY when we only had 1 toilet for 4 toilet trained people, 2 of whom were just learning.

I started both of mine when one was ready, but the other just wasn't ready, so he went back in nappies for a couple more months. when he was ready it was easier to train him cuz he'd had experience and seeing his brother, etc. Now with the next one down, he's been even easier than that.

Funnily enough, the one that trained later was dry at night at least 8-9 months before the one that trained first.

Are they both the same gender? I've heard that girls are ready earlier, but wouldn't know, I have only boys.

Two potties is a MUST.
