Would you take your child out of school early one day to give him some "mommy time"? My 7 year old has a long day of school and when he comes home I serve supper, they play a little and it's bedtime. It's always hectic in the house those hours and he doesn't get much attention (except when he misbehaves or is wild ) So I'm debating if I should take him out of school early like once a month or more during secular studies in the afternoon and just spend some time me and him. Is this conveying the wrong message??? what would you do?

This is also good, but I think the idea is to have private time, just with that kid. IF you don't want to take him out of school for a day, how about having dh watch the others or hire a babysitter and take the child out by himself once a month (we were thinking of doing that with all our kids bli neder, but I imagine with families much larger than ours, it may not be possible for every kid once a month)

The principal of the school my kids used to go to did this, for her own kids who attended that same school. She was a mother of ten children who I had a lot of respect for; she called it a 'mental health day'.
