I’m just curious what type of people shop at Walmart vs target? (Growing up we only
Shopped at Walmart and looked at people who shopped at target we considered them “fancy” lol)

Target isn't so cheap. Definitely "fancier" than Walmart.

There’s no Walmart in Brooklyn so that’s why we all shop in target

This. I think in greater America overall Walmart always had a reputation for being low-class but there are no Walmarts anywhere near NYC so it was never an option. Then one opened in Monticello close to where a lot of people from NYC spend their summers and it was a huge novelty, very exciting, nobody knew from middle America stereotypes and just enjoyed being able to buy things cheap way before Temu.

Walmart are usually lower class regular people
Target is for bougie people or people trying to be bougie or people like me with no Walmart nearby Smile

In Lakewood we have both 😁
I'm more of a target person. I find with the 5 percent off cc it's basically equal to Walmart. (Without the cc Walmart is cheaper)

Shopping at target vs Walmart can result in paying 5-10% more

We’re in high income bracket and LOVE shopping at Walmart. Great Value brand all day long

I would shop Walmart if we had one here (Brooklyn). I do order sometimes online from there. Target hardly.

I haven’t noticed a difference in the type of shoppers in the two stores in my area. Though on Sunday, my local Target looks like Jew land.

You are wrong
There is a Walmart about one minute over the Outer-Bridge by Staten Island
Staten Island is not just the land between the Verrazzano and the Outer-Bridge It's also a Borough of NYC.
When I lived in NYC(Staten Island part)I went there quite a bit.

Target has a much nicer layout and is very neatly displayed. Walmart is one big mess! I’m a huge 🎯 fan

I stand corrected, though having to cross a toll bridge into a different state doesn't sound so close.

In any case, I would estimate around 95% of imamother-eligible NYCers don't have easy access to Walmart but have at least one accessible Target (though some of those are small and wimpy)

There may be one in Bayonne, but after paying for 2 bridges, any money I'd save in Walmart is spent on tolls. Not worth it. I love ordering from Walmart. I'd order a lot more if delivery was an option in bklyn

I like Target much better but it's 17 minutes away while Walmart is 3 minutes away. So that wins.

When I lived in Staten Island the toll to NJ was cheaper then the toll to Brooklyn-even with the Staten Island discount.

I knew what you meant, it just raised an old hackle in me that used to drive me crazy when people said NY and meant Brooklyn.

For years I shopped at Target (with my redcard). I hate going into Walmart.

But now I have Walmart plus, which is super convenient. I still never go into Walmart.

A lot of the basics are never available for shipping from Walmart, at least to my address- the basics that I like to get from Target but would be cheaper from Walmart if they would only ship- tissues, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
