I bought a new irene soleil sheitle and am looking for someone in monsey who can do a reasonably priced straight cut on it.
I called one sheitle macher who quoted $600, totally ridiculous.
Didn't want to spend more than 200 max.
Any good recommendations?

Yitty grunbaum cut a few of my sheitels. She's very decent priced and a pleasure to work with.

I found someone that has experience with sheitles but has only done a few actually cuts on them.
She is happy to do it for me for a good price.
Is it a risk if I am just looking for a straight cut?

Why do you need to go to a sheitel macher specifically? Why not a regular stylist who works with wigs?

Do you mean a regular hairdresser?
I thought wigs need a different type of expertise?

They do but many regular non-Jewish hairdressers work with wigs and have experience with them. I go to a lovely woman at a trendy hair salon who has a private wig room, she charges 50/cut. She only works with wigs, I found out about her by querying my town forum.

Is the hairdresser you mentioned above based in monsey?

gitty shlesinger @gitty's wigs, she does a great job.
lives in monsey and does 200 dollar cuts on mondays.
actually maybe just recuts? not sure.

No, I'm sorry, I live about 2 hrs away. I just thought I would suggest that there are a lot of regular hairdressers with good wig experience if these sheitel machers are out of your price range. Maybe google it?
