I want to make busy in Brooklyn’s lemon blueberry crumb cake but don’t have pareve milk (I want it to be pareve). Can I sub water or oj for half cup of milk in the recipe?

Yes but the orange juice and lemon juice in the cake may not taste the way you want. Id do water.

You can, but either will alter the taste slightly. Should be fine though. Tip for these situations - I used to always keep on hand little shelf stable packs of non dairy milk, I don't remember the brand but they were like juice boxes except a cup's worth.

For this I would do OJ as it is already a citrus and fruity cake. In chocolate, I would use water.

I'm just cracking up cuz when I grew up that was understood. People didn't stock parve milk, they just used orange juice.

That is adding extra sugar and oil.
That's ok if that's what you want.
Or you can slightly reduce sugar and oil in recipe.
