I was hired for a job. The company is fairly new.
Bosses are super nice problem is I have very little work to do.
I have the couple of things I do but am not doing much during the day.
Spoke to boss about it and they just say don't worry about it. They are so busy trying to figure the whole company that they have no time to train me for new work.
When I was hired I was hired as an assistant.
They had hopes that I would take over one part of the job but it requires after hours and weekend time which I didn't want to do.
Been there for only about a month. Do I stick it out until they fire me or start to look for another job?

Doesn't hurt to look. I would imagine paying you to do very little work can only last for so long.

I'll make you aware, in case you haven't realized, that if they are a newer company and you are one of their first employees you have an open opportunity to grow within the company and become one of their top managers/ assistants, etc..

Don't wait for them to train. Take the initiative to learn the business, keep asking questions (without pestering) to learn more and understand, bring solutions and ideas to the table.

It's tough, but rewarding.

Disclaimer: I don't have that kind of stamina and drive, so I didn't become that top manager.

Good luck to you!

Do both. And enjoy it while it lasts.

Or you can take yiddishmom advice if you feel up to it, there’s a chance of that working out really well.

I would love to learn more but there is no one there that has time to teach me.
If I ask they just say they will get back to me.

What type of programs do you use? Can you either learn yourself or Google? I swear Google and Reddit are the most helpful things when it comes to especially like niche computer systems
