Dd has fever, sore throat and slight stomach ache on her right side. The dr at the urgent care said if the stomach pain gets worse we should take her to the emergency room.
I’m thinking of taking her anyway just to be on the safe side. Is Monmouth emergency room really bad, if I just want her to get checked out?

I was thinking of the Lakewood one just to get a scan and see if it’s inflamed

Just be prepared to sit for hours.
Faster if a dr calls ahead for you.

Jersey Shore is great and not so far. For the amount of time you will wait in Kimball (Monmouth South) waiting area, you may as well travel a half hour and get a better hospital and quicker visit.

This could be appendix or ovarian cyst or several others issues that might necessitate emergency surgery, I would highly recommend going to a hospital where you would feel comfortable with her having surgery and staying a while. Just as a precaution.

There's a virus going around like that - sore throat is not a symptom of appendix or ovarian cyst. I wouldn't sit an emergency room" just in case."

We had that once. She couldn’t sit still for a second. Bh, every was fine in ER. We went home, got better. Overnight strep culture was positive. Dr said that one of crazy things strep does is to make the lump nodes around the appendix inflamed and that why we ended up in the Er.
Hope she feels better.

I'm not sure I would go to an ER for fever, sore throat, and stomach pain...what are they trying to rule out? How old is this kid?

They are closed tonight, we stayed home and will see how she is overnight.
My friend’s kid had appendicitis recently and his pain was not so severe at all which is why I’m worried.

But it probably didn't come with a sore throat.
Stomach pain is a common symptom of strep.

I agree …. The combination of symptoms not sounding like appendicitis . If it were stomach pain and vomitting I’d be more concerned

Almost all doctors offices have an answering service that answers urgent calls after hours. If it sounds serious the doctor on call will call you back. This is always the best option if you're not sure if it's an emergency.
