Has anyone made a resin project in a group setting?
Were you able to find trays or wood boards in bulk for cheap ?
What else worked or didn't work for your group?

Thpugh it's a fun project idea, epoxy resin isn't as safd or innocent as some assume. You shouldn't be using resin without proper protection, as the fumes are unsafe. Even if you find cheap trays and boards, respirator masks for a large amount of people is going to be quite expensive, unless you are doing it as a business and are planning to reuse the masks with multiple groups.
I sometimes do resin at home and use low voc resin, and even with that and a chemical grade respirator, working only in a room with many windows, my OB told me not to risk it in pregnancy.

Do you need to wear masks when doing resin?

I did it in a group, we had someone come and show us what to do. We mixed epoxy with resin, divided into colors, poured onto tray, used a blow dryer to make designs.
None of us were wearing masks. I was five months pregnant then and bh my baby is just fine

I guess it's up to you, but do your research. I love crafting, and enjoy doing resin projects, but I wouldn't do it without protection. All different brands of epoxy resin that I've purchased recommend masks rated for organic compounds as well as disposable gloves. And if you're going to sand the resin with a dremel or other electric tool, wear safety glasses so pieces don't land in your eyes- ouch.

Not OP, but thanks for that since I was just considering using resin for the first time this chanukah.
Do you have to use molds or can I pour it on any plastic tray?
