my daughter got a swatch as a bas mitzva gift and she loves it. it's not the flat swatch but something classic and pretty and age appropriate. Imo, that's perfect for a 12 yr old.

I am not here to debate if it’s crazy or not. I just want to write. the ones people get as kallah watches are not the ones the girls are wearing. kallahs have the ones with diamonds. the girls are wearing the simpler ones with the leather or silicon bands. they Are like $200 on sale when u get at nordstrom rack or wtvr. they are not wearing the ones the cost thousands
and while 200 is a lot of money not going to argue. I just wanted to clarify for those who don’t live in lakewood and think the lakewood girls are walking around with $2000 watches. again $200 is an expensive over the top watch. I’m not here to argue that. I just wanted to clarify what they are wearing since I’m not sure it’s understood.

Just here to second that the kallahs and 12 year olds are getting different styles.
My dd just was given a michele watch for her bas mitzvah from my siblings.
We chipped in for one for my Baltimore niece last year, so its not just lakewood. Was less than $40 each.

There is a wide range of pricing on Michelle watch’s. $200 to thousands.
Often Nordstrom rack has for $200. Lots of girls get for bas mitzvah or graduation. Not the same as a kallah watch.

If you want much lower end. Like under $50 I recently bought some watches like those for my girls they liked.
The girls I know who have the $200 Michele watch wear them on Shabbos and a much cheaper watch during the week.

My sis just got a Michelle watch for her bas mitzvah.
It’s very much in style. If you can afford it it’s definitely worth it as it’s amazing quality and has been in style for the last 15 years!
