Anyone know if you can get family leave or disability for miscarriage? How do I apply? Does doctor need to sign off on it?

Ask your dr.
If you want it treated as a disability for an illness, your doctor would have to sign off. Could be they would.
Family Leave is only to care for a loved one and for birth it's because you're caring for a baby so unfortunately for a miscarriage if you're taking off the care for yourself, it would not apply.

You can also call LRRC for more information.

AFAIK, recently NJ passed a law giving you up to 21 days after a miscarriage with documentation from your doctor. This would be part of family leave. It's not on the family leave website yet so I'm not sure when it went into effect. That's why I suggested you call lrrc or ask your doctor if they've done it before.

If you provide documentation of a mis, you get 6 months of wic (same as after birth when not breastfeeding).

I don't believe that this was actually passed or signed into law yet but it could be I'm wrong?

You're right, I'm sorry. it's still stuck in the Senate.
Sometimes you can get your doctor to give you disability. A week of TDI is definitely warranted.

I had an ectopic pregnancy almost 2 years ago and needed a procedure done. I was told I can get disability. I took a week off of work and applied for disability. For some reason I didn’t get approved even after my doctor filled out everything they needed to. I found out a few months later that there is a minimum amount of days (at the time, it was 8 days) you need to take off in order for the disability to kick in. It was frustrating bec I would have taken an extra day off had I known that. So look into the amount of days off you need to take.
