Received a summons. I answered the online questionnaire and not sure I’m qualified yet.

What happens next?
Do I ignore ?
Is it mandatory?

First timer here..

Yes it’s mandatory, and if you filled out the online questionnaire they know that you received the mail

Don’t think so.
They know you received the initial questionnaire, but they have no proof you received the summons unless the mail was signed for (certified mail)

Proof or no proof, it's still illegal to ignore a jury duty summons. It's not optional.

I've been ignoring jury duty for probably 20 years now..... they can't prove that you got the mail.

If you have young kids just send them a letter explaining that you don’t have childcare and have x amount of kids under age 8 and that’s an automatic exemption.
Another one is if you have any health conditions. I have always gotten out of it between 1 way or the other,

I requested to be excused because I'm a caregiver of a child, and it worked.

It wasn't hard. I don't remember the details of what I had to do but I think I called the number on the summons and they told me what to do.

I just got excused by emailing my baby's birth certificate. Apparently it works whne it's not a baby too. If you work, you can have your boss write a letter saying that you're an essential worker.

Yes, I have littles.

Is the exemption a permanent one? Or each case separately?

I also have an autoimmune disease- can try that too.
