I have to give an answer in the next 2 days for a slot in Bnos Esther Malka or Meoros. It’s my first girl going to school in lakewood as my older girls already graduated when we lived in NY. Could anyone tell me the difference specifically between these two specifically? I know there are many threads but I’m wondering about these two because I have to give an answer to one of them.
I’m curious to know specifically about the crowd type in both but also about the overall principals and the way they’re run. It would be so helpful to me if anyone could give me specific differences If there are any. Thank you

Meoros is probably a drop more to the right. BEM principal Mrs. Schorr is amazing. She's a tzadeikes and an amazing person and very warm. BEM is a mix of alot of types.

They have tons of overlap both are great schools. Meoros has the plus of having a high school now so you don't have to go through the torture of getting in.

Bnos Esther Malka is amazing! All types of families, but not pressured. Principal is the greatest, noone like her in the world. Very warm, happy school

Very similar well run schools. Both excellent principals and Both schools have a great name.
Good luck! You'll be happy wherever you land up!

Which school is easier to get to?
Pick that one
The schools are in two different parts of town, if you don't get transportation which one would you rather drive to?

They are both great schools. The fact that Meoros has a high school is a huge huge plus imo.

Another thrilled BEM parent here. The school is so warm and well run and the academics are great. The staff are real role models.
I hear a lot of people are happy in Meoros too. The parent body is pretty interchangeable for the most part. BEM is a little more oot.
I’m happy for you that you have two slots! It’s hard to get any slot this year!

This is me trying hard to find a difference- I think in BEM the crowd is working type and in meoros it's more of a learning for 5 years after marriage and then working type.
But could be in wrong and just going into the Itty bitty.. meoros has more of a yeshivish flavor although they're both not considered very yeshivish schools according to lakewood
Good luck! You'll be happy wherever you land up! |
My DH learned for 6 years, my friend’s learned for five…. But you’ll find all sorts here.

I agree with GLUE.
Youre signing up for 9 years. Who knows about bussing and stuff.
Which is closer? Which is less inconvenient to drive to? Which one do neighbors send for carpools?
And also has Aderes confirmed that they're accepting all Meoros girls or us that an assumption

Is Aderes automatically accepting all Meoros girls? That’s amazing!
I wish all schools here would have that!

Bnos Esther malka is warm, excellent academics and mrs schorr is amazing. She calls when my girls are absent and sent cookies for my bar mitzva and when I was sitting shiva and sent container of soup when we moved. The teachers are amazing. It’s a mix all types plenty of out of towners
The people I know that send to meoros are more trendy with it , longer sheitals more fancy younger crowd
Bem is also connected to Aderes because mrs Drillman the English principal her mother in law is the principal of Aderes so 13 girls from my daughters class in bem went to Aderes

A lot of the crowd is interchangeable.
I send to BEM, I don't know people there who didn't learn for a few years after marriage, but there could be. I would say closer to half the class more balebatish, a mix of OOT type and yeshivish the other half.
Meoros is a little newer, so it's going to have a slightly younger crowd.
Both are great choices. Hatzlocha
