Currently have 3 drawers sorted by colors, 2 drawers of less frequently worn, 4 bins that are supposed to be on a closet shelf.

I'm not ready to get rid of any, but desperately need better organization (which is true of many areas of my life...)

Should it be by summer/ winter? Sometimes I think, hang w outfit... some days I just can't find the one I want...

I also have a huge collection and have a similar sorting system to you. I easily have a few hundred scarves and I keep them folded. Rectangularly in eight acrylic bins. The bins are in a glass door Ikea curio type closet. I find it this way. I can pretty easily flip through each bin and see from the sides what I have. I separate by colorway, by pattern versus a solid, and by everyday versus shabbos/fancy (although I have only about 30-40 fancier pieces). I've considered doing by outfit, but I do like to change it up quite a bit, plus my wardrobe is always changing between the seasons and stages of life.

I often pull out a few scarves to try with an outfit and I'm too lazy to fold them all back up on the spots and put them in the bins. I have one area where all the unfolded scarves go including ones recently worn, and once in awhile I have to sit and refold up to 100 scarves and reorganize them into the proper bin. It requires maintenance, but again with a few hundred scarves, there's no real solution.

I don't have quite as many scarves, but mine are mostly silk and have resale value, so I want to keep them nice. I don't want folding lines to set, but I also don't want them to get scrunched up and wrinkled. I looked at all kinds of solutions for years, and here's what I came up with:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod.....;th=1

I fold each scarf loosely and then roll it up and put it in a compartment. In addition, I have an acrylic box with a lid where I store larger scarves, thick scarves, pashminas, etc.

I also made a deal with myself: I can have two of these compartment bins, but that's my maximum. If I fill it up and then find something I want, I have to give away or sell one of my scarves. I do have a few that I keep purely for sentimental reasons, but my rule helps me evaluate just how much sentiment I have.

Hatzlacha, and let us know when you end up with. I'm always looking for new ways to keep my scarves both protected and accessible.

How about getting a few of these?
Split them for winter/summer/special occasions etc
I use them for my scarves

AAH! So nice to meet someone who understands me!

And I can't seem to convince my cleaning lady not to roll up and knot whatever she sees lying around. I try to fold in half, then a few times vertically, then roll gently, so they can all stand up. But they get too crowded in the drawer.

Also I feel like I need section for things I haven't worn in a while, since we are LEGALLY required to dispose of times not used in a year (or is it 2?) so I try to make the effort to use them!

I was thinking I just need to make more room on my closet shelves. But they're not that easy for me to reach.

Or I could empty more dresser drawers... which ones? Maybe it's okay to just leave nightgowns hanging in the laundry room & use that drawer for scarves?....

There's really no room for another piece of furniture. Right now I have a shoe bag on the back of the bedroom door, but that's full of shoes. I have another one on the back of the bathroom door. That has all kinds of miscellany like evening bags, actually very miscellaneous and probably could get rid of some. BUT I am not so fond of that idea because they'd be open to dust.... I prefer drawers or closed bins. Maybe a narrow clear plastic chest.... that's a thought.
