DH grew up in Bnei Brak, didn`t know a word of english. Fast forward a few years of marriage in my english-speaking country, he now speaks english pretty well. DH dreams of going to live in Eretz Yisroel.
I don`t want to go to Bnei Brak, because my hebrew is practically nonexistent and if I won`t have anyone to communicate with in english, I will explode.
We are chassidish, DH wears a shtreimel. At the same time, I am very friendly and open-minded. Is there a place to live in Eretz Yisroel where chassidim live but also speak English? (Most Isreali chassidim I know only speak hebrew and yiddish). I am fluent in yiddish but am much more comfortable speaking english. Yerushalayim would be ideal, but way too expensive. I am okay with having non-chassidish english-speaking neighbours, but they need to be more to the yeshivish side because I don`t want my kids to have too much exposure.
Any suggestions?

I'm also looking for this type of community. We are English speaking Chassidish. We know basic Yiddish but English is our first language. We are very frum and into learning but at the same time not as farfrumt as Israeli style Chassidish. Our lifestyle is similar to that of typical Lakewood Heimish.
I'll be following this thread.

Sounds like this is something rare and I wouldn't expect there to be a community like this

We are leaning towards RBS but don`t know which one to pick or where to start! We need a chassidish school for our kids but maybe school buses take the kids from one RBS to another (from gimmel to hei for example)? I would love to hear from people who live in RBS if they think we would fit in there and if there are like-minded people there as well. Or we could go to Kiryat Gat on the outskirts of Yerushalayim but I hear the kehillah there is Belz and we are not so I prefer a more generalized chassidish kehillah.
Rosepink, how soon are you thinking of going?

Beitar is much less english speaking than yerushalayim, but certain neighborhoods will have more English speaking people. Lots of chassidish schools in Beitar.
Bet Shemesh
Maybe givaat zev hachadasha, but you need to do more research.

I've been looking into it for a while. Was also looking into RBS but got very conflicting info. My plan was to take a trip and go from there.

Yes people bus from one place to another. But also there may be a culture shift you will have to undergo.
Israeli chassidim wouldn't have access to imamother.

Isn`t Beitar a lot further away from Bnei Brak? My in-laws live there and I want to be close enough to be able to go over, it shouldn`t be a long shlep
Here is where I am starting my research!

The charedi part of Givat Zeev- Agan Haayalot, Givat Zeev Hachadasha- may be what you're looking for. There's a large anglo yeshivish community there and also a large chassidic community there, and some chassidic anglos

Thanks. Is it close to arab villages? one of the places I heard about overlooks an arab village, maybe this is the one. I am petrified!

That's why it needs to be American (or European) Chassidish. It's a totally different culture.
I wonder if there are schools in Bet Shemesh like Bnos Hadassah in Yerushalayim. Or I guess the girls travel.

RBS daled is a hugeee mix. No one really knows what it will look like in five or ten years but it will probably be chareidi and chassidish.
I meet very few English speaking chassidim here. I think chassidim very often don't make aliyah. I meet some from England sometimes

At the moment, I have only boys. They will probably adapt easier than girls would, but I still want them to have neighbors to play with.
We will start off renting and either we will love it and buy, or hate it and move back or to a different Israeli city. But it`s hard to unsettle the kids...
