Also, what accessories will I need to buy? For context, I live in Brooklyn and will be using it as my "car". do I need a water bottle/phone holder? Etc?

It’s extremely long and oversized. I recommend you go see it in person in a store before purchasing because it looks a lot nicer on line then in reality

It's a double stroller & It's huge. You don't need that for 1 baby.

Interesting. I was also thinking it’s a genius purchase for a first baby .. always nice to have the option to turn into a double…
As someone who had a doona, bugaboo, car stroller. Then had a baby very close in age and needed a double. I was tripping over strollers!

I would quicker do the up’s baby vista. The kangaroo was made very narrow and everyone I see in it looks squished

Interesting! It seemed like such a great idea bec it can convert into a double stroller but I hear that it's built funny and I don't think I want that. What do u guys recommend? The fox 5?

If you like the look, I love my bugaboo dragonfly. It's not as bulky but still a strong good carriage

Sorry but new bugaboo both dragonfly and kangaroo look very flimsy to me. Definitely recalls on dragonfly in beginning. To soon to know about kangaroo. Too many broken scraped dragonfly out there. Shouldn't be like that so soon. The connectors on kangaroo look like very cheap plastic.
If yoy really like that style I'd recommend looking into uppa baby or silvercross

Handmuffs are nice for the winter in Brooklyn...
Regarding these accessories, it really depends on your lifestyle- I wouldn't worry about them now and just see as we go along what's needed and get it at that point, it's not a major decision

I have the fox 5 and live in israel and use it as my "car"
wonderfully sturdy, large basket, and pushes beautifully
I definitely reccomend it, although I am not sure what unique needs you may have in brooklyn

That's really good to hear! Yes this sounds exactly what I would like to hear! Does it fold nicely? We can't keep our strollers in the lobby in my apartment

I also live in a busy city and have fox 5 I love it!! its so sturdy can hold a ton in the basket and is a beautiful stroller. its not the type of stroller your constantly folding though .. if your looking for something like that I would do the butterfuly which is also an amazing stroller but more of the travel type and the dragonfly is in between those 2 so maybe you need that.. its supposed to be a very easy fold

Having both doona and a car stroller is an overkill but life happens. Just shop and sell as your family grows

Buy a fox or a chameleon, definitely a full-sized sturdy stroller. If you want to have kids back to back, buy a donkey and use it with 1 child but life may not work out like that for you and it’s a big investment.
