Anon because I’m embarrassed to ask this but…
How do I vote in the presidential elections?
I think I registered to vote last time I renewed my license. I will be out of town on Election Day but I understand it can be done early. Where in Lakewood can I submit an early ballot? What do I need to do?
Thank you!

You can go to any of the libraries for early voting

Wow that sounds simple! So I can let’s say walk into the lakewood Library on Lexington, go to the front desk and ask for a ballot? Do I need to bring anything along?

I wasn’t aware you could do it at the library but in Lakewood across from the township, and across from pizza plus, near the police station is where you can vote early.

I appreciate this question. I don't even know how to register to vote and feel very embaressed about that

Thank you all!
Canary, I am old enough to have voted about three elections ago 🙈 I usually can’t figure out which one is worse but this year I feel like my vote is for Israel so there I go.

Well, you missed registering for this election. You never tried typing into Google, how do I register to vote in x state? You can usually register online or by mail. It's very easy.

You shouldn't need to register
Lakewood early voting is at 231 3rd street. There are zillions of signs that say vote here.
You walk in. Bring your license. It's easy and they tell you what to do

I can't understand this. The people we elect to make the policies that affect our lives! Since I'm old enough to remember, I recall accompanying my parents to vote in elections. Our polling place was around the corner from us and we used to walk together as a family.
My kids are counting down the years until they are old enough to vote and the big ones all know which is the first big election they will be able to vote in.
Our grandparents lived in countries where they were not allowed to vote. There is no excuse not to register to vote and then go out to vote.
Please register immediately so that you can at least vote in the next election.

This information is incorrect. You do not need a license to vote and in fact New Jersey does not request any ID (sadly).

My parents aren’t American. I’ve literally never seen the inside of a voting booth… or the outside, actually. In the past few years I’ve felt like most elections were train wrecks either way.

They always are! Still, vote.
It feels empowering! And everyone there is super nice and helpful.

Below is a list of all the early voting options in Ocean County. FYI: Lakewood library is not one of them.

For registering. If for some reason when he registered to vote he did not present ID then he would have to present it while voting, but that is not the typical situation.

You don't need it but it's the easiest way. Op said she has a license in her first post so she should just bring it along.

The deadline for registering to vote for this year’s election in NJ was October 15.
https://nj.gov/state/elections.....shtml
If you haven’t already registered, you’re not eligible to vote this year.
