Just wondering. Recently inherited a fur coat and don’t want to look like an odd ball for wearing it.

A lot of people consider it in bad taste especially since animals are tortured in order to make them.

Still wearing mines from a couple years ago. Don’t have much opportunities since NY winters aren’t so brutal but when I do, I really enjoy it. Feel regal and beautiful.

My mother inherited my grandmother's about thirty years ago. It hung in the closet for about ten years, then disappeared when we did renovations. I never thought that people were still wearing them.

When my grandmothers passed away, my mother inherited both of theirs. I think there were 3 or 4 in all. She never had any hava mina of wearing them. She gave them away.

I’m in town and don’t see them often, except on much older ladies.

All the Hungarian ladies used to wear them in shul on the Upper West Side in the 80s and 90s. Have not seen them much since. My mil offered to get me one for my 30th birthday (many years ago.) I declined in favor of a Pearl bracelet. I would say they are both out of style, but the word is that pearls are back. This may also be community specific for both.

I am in my 50's (just for reference) and I still wear my furs. I am also a huge fan of pearls and have brought mine back out the last few years.

I’m with you on the pearls, bottlebrush. They never went out of style with me! I’m a vegetarian, so I’d probably opt for the faux fur.

Nothing says warm stylish elegance like fur
❤️
Nothing keeps me warm through brutal winters like fur
Know many who wear
Perhaps depends upon the climate

Right now, black wool belted long coats are the new shabbos trend.

Furs is a considered old this season.

Don't worry, give it a year or so and it will make a strong comeback.

A shorter fur coat, absolutely. A longer fur coat, not so much. Reminds me of the women in my family. They all wore their fur coats in the dead of winter for a fancy night out.
