Can I ask for payment before pickup?
Otherwise, how can I assure I’ll get paid?

No you can't ask for payment before pickup
You hold onto the item and do not release it to the person in front of you until you are paid

So that basically means paid before pickup, meaning by the time they take it out of my house it’s paid up.

Paid before pickup means the zelle you the money before you even allow them to ring your doorbell and peek at your item

Once I was asked for down payment. Like once I commited to take it they wanted 20%. And the rest when I picked up. (They were moving so they wanted to make sure I would actually take it before they told others no)
