Can't think of any one WOW thing. It's a combo of many small changes. Avoiding sugar, white flour, and junk food in general. Eating more vegetables. Going out walking in the park every day. Keeping track of what I eat. Trying to eat more slowly. (Still working on that!) Controlling portion sizes. Exercising my "won't power." (I won't eat that.) Not eating within three or four hours of planned bedtime. Imagining myself healthier, happier, better dressed, better looking and therefore more confident minus the excess poundage. The usual. There's no magic wand.

Wow!
Practically speaking, does that mean you make yourself a very proper supper every night?
Something super filling like meat etc.

Yes! I used to eat cereal every night and then end up snacking all night because it's not filling.
I'm really not a chicken/meat eater but I became one.

I'm not that poster but I usually have a light supper and try to take in most of my calories earlier in the day. Breakfast is usually a real meal: bread and/or cereal, milk, fruit, vegetables, a fat and a protein. Supper is a real meal but the protein may be just a glass of milk if I had two servings of protein earlier in the day. Shabbos and YT are different, of course, so I'm a little concerned about the next few weeks. Realistically I hope not to gain over the YTim. A loss would be amazing but I won't expect it, between the irregular meal times, the lack of exercise (shuckling and Aleinu really don't count) and the festive meals, just maintaining is a triumph.
