Who decided that babies and toddlers should wear rompers and bloomers in the winter? For $80 you can find a shabbos undershirt with snaps.

It’s ridiculous. I look for knit sets and just get a romper for special occasions. A romper and tights is not cozy and babies deserve to be cozy and comfy in the winter.

If there are any fashion designers for frum children’s brands on here - please stop this ridiculousness!

This is not something that happens in every community. I personally never heard of a romper before imamother. To be honest still not exactly sure. But I know that nobody in my community is buying baby clothing for that amount of money.

Right, and where I live it would look like you forgot to put his pants on. It's absurd. Tights are not warm with nothing on top.

And I love the look.
Here in NY Its not FREEZING ever Sukkos. My babies wear a chunky sweater with bloomer and socks.
When its freezing I put on tights and I love the look.
Its a matter of taste and don't buy it if you don't like it.
Why do we need a thread on this every day.

It's chilly enough in NY over sukkos that the babies legs need to be entirely covered. We often need a coat on sukkos. It's sad that people care more about fashion, then their babies comfort. Even if you love the look, your baby comes before that. I so often see little kids wearing socks but the mother is bundled up in warm boots & gloves. How is that okay.

Whoever is buying them, decided. If people wouldn't be buying them, the stores wouldn't stock them.

I just don't put my babies in those. I buy normal outfits. It's ridiculous whichever way you spin em. Sorry, Garden

Do you want to wear a chunky sweater with bloomers and socks when its cold but not FREEZING?

If its coat or chilly my baby is in thick cotton tights.
If its warm like we had last wear Sukkos my baby wore the new outfit with socks as it was barely cold.
Don't start bashing something you don't like and put it down like we are all doing something terribly wrong.

If its cold I put on tights.
But in the past on Sukkos we had real warm weathers in NY and winter clothes were not even needed or appropiate.
This year will most likely be cold as its late in October vs. last year

And if they are- then there is too many layers on the crotch which can lead to overheating and is not good for boys

I'm fully against fashion for babies. The two main considerations for dressing a baby should be "is it comfortable?" and "how well can I access the diaper?"

Why are you all so emotional about this.??

Chil!!!!!!!

I like rompers and I like tights and my babies are NOT cold.
You know what, I can't stand two-piece outfits on little babies I think they look really nerdy and don't fit well and so why don't I go start a whole thread knocking some other mother's clothing choice for her baby..

Not me! I have never bought rompers or bloomers for any of my kids for the winter.

But really...every person has something they like ..something they are drawn to and something that they spend their money time resources on something that gives them pleasure

This is some people's pleasure - it's so simple
Maybe I won't do it but so many people will
Just like not everyone likes every food this is same thing

What's wrong with it??

I love the look. Where I live all the regular department stores sell affordable rompers that come with matching tights so it’s not just a Jewish thing, other people like the look too.
Don’t bash others just because it’s not your taste.
