I’m a BT so no one in my family covers, my MIL while religious has also never covered. It took me until a few years into my marriage to finally feel brave enough to cover but I’m so frustrated with the sheitel process I just don’t know what to do. I first got a fall from a gemach to just test out the waters. It’s not in great condition at all and isn’t that comfortable. So I spent $550 on a used wig which at first I liked but then after a few months I realized I don’t like it at all and it’s also not very comfortable. So I found another used wig that was gorgeous but before buying I took it to a sheitel macher that told me there were all sorts of issues and it didn’t fit right and wasn’t worth it. My husband thinks she was making that up in hopes I come back to buy a sheitel from her but I got cold feet that I would spend another $600 on a wig I hate. We really can’t afford for me to spend $2k on new but I’m desperate to have something I feel good in. But now I’m reading so many stories of people who buy new and have issues as well. I would never live with myself if I cost my family 2k and then it didn’t work out. I feel absolutely paralyzed what to do. And now I have the image of me in the used wig I didn’t buy, and I’m obsessed with how good it looked. I want something just like that, but how will I guarantee it fits me if I buy new? Do I play roulette and get another used one? I don’t feel experienced enough to buy something from China like I see some woman doing. I don’t even have someone I trust who is experienced enough to come shopping with me. I actually love this mitzvah so much and am so happy to keep it, I just want to be comfortable.

No advice, just letting you know you have brought many zechusim to our nation. Don't give up on finding the right covering! And tichels are stunning too.

Hugs! I'm FFB and have been married for a long time. I've done wigs cheap and I'm not sure where I'd start if I wanted to buy one now and saved up 2K for it. Hatzlachah.
This is a big zechus to be bringing into RH.

Its so hard , It really is.
So easy to buy something that looks great but doesnt last.
Do you have any friends that cover their hair and are happy with their sheitel machers?
Most important thing is to be able to trust them.
I like to speak to a shaitel macher who doesnt actually sell wigs, she just does wash and sets, to get some advice.
That way she is 100% not biased when she gives me her opinion.
I also go to someone periodically for repairs and I always ask her about brands of wigs as she is very involved in the wigs but doesnt actually sell so no feet on the game
Its all about finding someone you trust.
I know easier said then done.
Is there any makes youve seen that you particularly like or dislike?
Maybe work around that.
Also always really good to get anpther opinion from someone who knows about wigs but does not sell.
