3rd day of playgroup, Morah texts me that he’s not himself. How does she know after only 2 days of getting to know him? How do I explain to her that yes, he’s a hard kid sometimes. The first 2 days he probably behaved better because he does that when he’s unsure of the environment. But once he gets comfortable he starts acting up, normal 2 year old behaviors like not sharing nicely, crying when he doesn’t get his way, hitting, tantruming. Obviously I’m working with him on these behaviors, but it’s pretty typical for his age.

So be open with her. Explain what he's currently struggling with, how you're dealing with it, etc.

She is probably worried that he is getting sick.

This. Maybe he's not feeling well. It's best to call her and ask her what's going on.

get him tested for strep, if he seems out of character at home too.
many years of experience as a playgrou morah has shown me that oftne strep goes undiagnosed until it manifests itself as out of character, not quite themselves behavious etc
