I was told I need to invert a pan over a hot plate to use it on Shabbos. I was also told "a trivet works too."
What kind of pan/trivet should I be buying that will cover most/all of the hot plate? And which hot plate should I buy?

Clarify with your rav. Mine said I can put food directly on it so there’s clearly many opinions

My Rav said no. Hence the trivet idea but I can't picture what that would look like.

I was told to have a blech and then upside down pans. I use a long baking sheet as the blech and then two 9x13s inverted on top. But I only use the pans by day not by night because that food is put on before Shabbos.
