Is it the accepted standard for husband and wives to exchange gifts on their anniversary? Is it only the first, especially the first, or same like a birthday - every year?

it's your marriage, do what works for you. if you want a gift, make sure hubby knows it before your anniversary, not after he forgets to give you one Wink Wink

ask him if he wants one as well. there is no reason you have to base what you want in your marriage on what others do.
