For DD going to seminary. She is under 5' and a m or L - most of what I have tried to buy is too long in the sleeve of too tight on top. any links would be appreciated

I’m same height and size. It’s worth it to take a few shirts to the seamstress to shorten the sleeves. Short people (short arms) will normally have to spend more unless you find petite clothing that fits.

Yes, petites, long dolman sleeves and paying a seamstress to fix the neck and sleeves is what works for this figure.
I have spent a fortune- literally, on alterations. Also, I bought some black shells - size XL and paid more than the cost of the shell to shorten the length of the shell, and shorten and taper the sleeves. It’s worth it because it makes many tops/outfits look right. Without the perfect shell underneath I wouldn’t be able to wear the clothing.
