canon is discontinuing g7x, g9x and sx740
the ones that are left are either used or very expensive.
is there anything new coming out or any other brand/model that compares?

These kinda things are slowly going out of style. The world has smartphone w fantastic cameras from a very young age. Who needs these cameras? A real pity for us

G9x is discontinued for a while
G7xmII/g7xmIII/sx740 are not discontinued. they are getting shipments once a month.
Next shipment mid Sep.
they go very fast best advice place an order and pay, like this you will have 1 reserved for you.
G7xmII/g7xmIII is the same camera the only difference is on the III if you shoot video, it has a separate port for audio.
