Which Granite Counter Dealers are most user friendly? For the biggest selection, they all recommend going to the same Granite yards in Northern NJ (MSI, etc) and then give you the price including their markup. I assume some work on a higher profit margin than others.

Between these dealers: House of Granite, BCG, Hard Surface Kings, Atlantic, or others I havent mentioned, etc, who offers the best prices, and if they dont offer the best prices, which companies compensate with better workmanship and service than the others?

TIA

Right now sales are really
Down the stone yards and fabricators are all keeping the price high but as soon as one store buckles and drops their price they all will. I feel like it’s worth it to go to all and see which will give you a better price because you can bargain now that they don’t have so much sales.

I used HOG and kings very recently. Was thrilled with kings. Their pricing, customer service, time frame, and work was wonderful. HOG wasn’t bad necessarily. Just comparatively I preferred kings and would use them again.

I used House of Granite, he found me a slab in the color I wanted for cheaper, very good service, perfect installation, would highly recommend them
I used a non-Jewish company for another sink top and did not have a good experience

Not naming a company. I had a great experience buying my counter, but I am absolutely not happy with the counter. I complained and got radio silence.

So going forward .. ask. Is there any guarantee on the counter? What is and isn't covered? Etc.

Could be that not.

But then when I'm at the store looking at counters and asking for info and help it would have been nice to get accurate information.

I feel lied to and gypped. And I'm out about 5k for a counter I hate.

Perhaps the best way to find out about the practicality of Quartz counters is to ask people you know IRL who have Quartz counters and ask if theyre happy.

On this thread it seems theres lots of unhappy customers.

Imho I love the look of Quartz counters, but I cant see spending big money on something that many who bought it, regret.

It's not usable.

You need to put down a trivet before putting down anything hot.

It scratches so easily. With all my other kitchens, I cut challah dough directly on the counter. This counter scratches.

If you have a disposable 9x13 with brownies and you cut yourself a piece of cake, the counter gets stained.

And it is impossible to keep clean.

I didn't go wrong.

They told me it's easy to keep clean, low maintenance, and there's nothing special that I'd need to do with quartz.

That wasn't true at all.

There is still new construction but a lot less than two years ago. Also Commerical building 80 percent stopped. People are also spending less than they did two years ago. You can definitely bargain with a store now vs. two years ago they would have sent you out the door.

So what counter is recommended?
I thought quartz was high quality and durable!
