A: medium sized, extremely warm hanhalah- the principal knows every single girl’s name, gives them hugs, is so warm, gives them compliments. Parent body is mix of simple and wholesome , and baalebatish/fancy. Regular academics. Not a super fancy school but some peer pressure, not out of the ordinary.

B: small school, used to be on low end academically but changing for the better to be more on par with other schools, staff is nice but haven’t heard anything that blows me away, parent body is working but simple, not rich and fancy, no peer pressure at all.

C: large school but each division has its own principal. Been around for years. Well run, mix of parents- some in kollel for 20 years, some young working. Mix of ages of the girls. High academics. Moms who send there say their kids are happy. I went as a girl and it was huge, but I managed…

The girl in question is bright, cute, funny, clever, friendly- loved by her kindergarten teachers and friends.

Of these, our neighbors are most likely to send to school C. We live in a big area and most from my immediate neighborhood do not send to schools A or B

A no question. The rest don’t sound appealing from what you described.

Sounds like Shulamith, BYAM, and TAG.

I send my girls to Shulamith, or school A.

With school A, the draw is really one person- the principal. My concern is what happens if she leaves for some reason…

A sounds good, but im surprised. I’m pretty sure most schools have a policy against staff hugging students so they don’t open themselves up to allegations.

C
Local friends is important

My personal experience a good happy kid can potentially do well in most well run schools

I guess I'm the only one but I say B.
Actually switched 1 of my kids from a school similar to A to a different school that is B.
I can not describe the difference!
It is unbelievable. Both for me as a parent and for my child!

I chose A for my daughter but I sometimes wonder if I made a mistake and should have chosen B. Obviously I dont know the exact schools but I had very similar choices

As a Baltimorean, A sounds like Bnos and C sounds like BY but I don't know what B would be Smile

C actually also has less peer pressure bec it’s more of a community school rather than a niche school like A.

C - I’d choose something well established and well run. Many new schools that are small run into problems and end up shutting down or change because they aren’t established. I also like high academics better than low academics especially for a girl who is clever.
