Especially those that don’t have family upstate. My kids camp has visiting day from 11-7.. it’s so long how do I fill the day? Also it’s so late to first be leaving the country at 7… I’ll have my little kids with me… any friends I have going also have relatives upstate that they will hang out by…

Same issue , crazy long drive to do w/ little kids .
But I am not planning to leave early , like whatever ends up working out tomm morning .
And visiting day is till 8.
I don’t think I will stay till 8, it’s too much
More realistic is that we will leave by 11:30 & get there by 2 & stay till 5 or 6.

Can you stay on campus for a couple hours? The camp we go to has activities open and a lunch. We get there when they open at 11 and stay around campus with lunch and canteen until around 2. Then the usual, Walmart, Woodburn, dinner. Sometimes mini golf

I’m thinking to avoid crowded places for dinner and do a bbq instead. (Save money too lol) Are there parks I can bring a grill to?

That depends which camp you're going to. My son's camp doesn't allow bar-b-qing on premises.

I think visiting day needs to stop! If kids aren't old enough to go away for 4 weeks without visiting day, they're not ready for camp. JMNSHO

I meant a local park. Not on camp. What’s a good park in the country to go to that allows grills.

There are so many camps upstate in so many different locations, you don't want to be driving an hour away looking for a park. You can prob look on Google maps and see what's closest.

Can you recommend a boating place in the Catskills area?
