Help, dd just reminded me that she needs/wants a camera for camp.
I last bought a camera 15 years ago, everything has changed completely since then. The brand name cameras seem to be upwards of 500 dollars, but there are "no name" cameras for less.
Any recommendations? Are no name cameras ok? (150 to 200 dollar range).
Links would be really appreciated, as well.
Thank you!

I'm not in your situation right now but I'd call B&H and ask them what they recommend. ime they really don't push you to go over your budget.

I would get something on ebay from a reputable seller. Nikon coolpix has a bunch of compact cameras in a range of prices. They're cheaper than Canon Powershots. I don't have personal experience with the Nikon, though. Kodak Easyshare is a cheaper option, but the quality is much lower.
