Can I say tehillim if I don't daven?

I am always talking in my own words to H', but formal tefillah has always been very hard for me. Some days I don't daven at all, even forgetting to say brachos. I do try to bring more davening into my life, but then it falls away.
I was thinking about taking on saying daily tehillim and/or nishmas. But what is holding me back is the internal voice that is telling me that if I don't daven proper davening daily why should I do the "extra" davening.
I know I should do both, but in reality maybe tehillim or nishmas that can be at any time of day anywhere would be easier for me. But it feels so hypocritical.
I would love any insight and thoughts. Thank you

Of course you can say tehillim. But do say birchot hatorah first.

I don't think you have to daven in order to be able to say tehillim. Each has value on their own.

You can definitely work tehillim into your day if you are moved to do so. I love the way you speak directly to Hashem, and I have confidence that you say everything with kavanah. This inspires me to dialogue more with Hashem.

100% yes. Davening and tehillim are two separate things and if tehillim feels like your connection to Hashem, you should definitely use it.

Definitely.
Each tefillah is on its own.
Hashem will accept each one regardless if you did or didn't say the others.
