My friend is iyh getting married soon, she's over 30 so looking for a more mature look, not pouffy or "cupcake". She's been to Ehrenfeld and Ten Yad in Crown Heights and didn't find anything in her tastes, she prefers more of a straight simple look. She is also on a limited budget so it needs to be a gemach not a rental.
Any ideas for her? I know there is one in Williamsburg but my sister went there before her wedding and said there was only quite pouffy ones there (makes sense as that's usually the style). Maybe something in Monsey or 5 Towns? Or elsewhere in Brooklyn?
Any leads appreciated!

I'm pretty sure the gown I got was from Williamsburg but many years ago. Call them, when I was there they had tons of different styles, from poufy to trendy to simple and everything in between.
Also if you get a satin gown and wear a less puffy petticoat it will look quite different.

That's a good idea to call them, do you have the number handy? Or know what they're called officially to look them up?

I'm not sure exactly but what is Ehrenfeld, $250 plus any required alterations? So around that. Where would be a good place to look online? Ty!

What size is she? I was at Stern's Gemach in Lakewood, and I saw a gown that was very pristine, white, and less "gepatchket". I happened to love it, but my Kallah wanted more glitz. Probably was around a size 4. On that note, my DD wore a very different gown to her wedding, also from Stern's. They have a really nice selection, and if she happens to be in Lakewood during their hours, I recommend checking them out.

I am pretty sure she's not a 4 but thank you! I will pass it on. Coming from Crown Heights though so most likely not going to be in Lakewood just randomly and it's pretty far (and not same direction as Monsey iirc?) but might be worth a trip.
