erev shabbos my 5 yr old son was sitting at the table eating his kneidle soup and chit-chatting with me. he said, "mommy, when I grow up, who am I going to marry?) and I said, "I don't know, who do you want to marry?" and he said "I want to marry youuuuuuuuuuuuu." as you can imagine, I was flattered. what lovely things about me made him want to marry me, I wondered? so I asked, "why do you want to marry mommy?"
you know what the little pisher said?
"I want to marry you so you can scream at my kids for me!"  
(we're in the middle of a move and all my kids are home from camp, so it's insane here. I admit to yelling more than usual.  ) today he told me that he loves how I read with him, and snuggle with him, and take him on trips. I guess those are better reasons to marry your mother!

Oh, this also reminded me of another story (not anyone I know, I just heard it somewhere):
A little boy tells his father that when he grows up, he will marry grandma. The father says, "You can't marry my mother!" And the boy replies, "Why not, you married mine."

When ds was about 4 he asked what will happen to him when he grows up?. I told him, in terms that a 4 yo would relate to, that he will get married and his wife will cook for him, buy his clothes and take care of him when he is sick. He looked up at me and asked, "Who am I going to marry? Bubbie?"
The truth is, he could do a lot worse!
