This was in a different thread,

Maybe young girls thinking about careers should be informed which careers are more compatible with having and raising a large family.

It’ll be good for their children and clients alike.

Can anyone say what is a good career to have with having and raising a large family?

I’m not a therapist but I think that’s ideal. In private practice you can make as much as $200/hr and work for 4 hours per day. Four days at that rate is $800/week. Four weeks (one month) at that rate is $12,800/month.

Additional hours yields additional income accordingly. Imagine working for one hour to pay the cleaning lady for a week!

Therapy is a good career for the right personality. Just because some imamother karen said otherwise doesn't change the facts.
I was raised that anything I can excel at is the ideal career, if you are really good you will eventually be able to have good pay and benefits.

I work in website management and design. Work mostly from home and make a nice hourly wage. Self-taught.

Same, just interior design. Not self taught though. Went to college and did 5+ years working long hours for other firms before I went on my own.

Everyone has to do what they love and are good at.

According to the current Mishpacha diary serial, ER doctor! Flexible hours and working just 30 hours a week brings in a very nice salary.

(Also there are overhead expenses like renting an office space...)

I think she meant 800$ a day

Computers depends what it is. IT doesn’t make a lot at all. Software developers do on the other hand.

What kind of job is this? What courses do you take and how much can you bring in a month?

For me, compatible with frum life means fair pay, excellent benefits (subsidized insurance perks like daycamp and sleep away camp grants, daycare grants) and lots of PTO

I’m a hospital social worker and feel it’s very compatible with having a frum family

Well, we do need frum teachers and frum therapists, and there are not enough single girls willing to do the job, so...

Honestly I don't think any real career is compatible with having a baby every year and taking off three months each time.

While there are frum women who can give birth every year while keeping up with a demanding career, they either have superhuman strength or, more likely, a LOT of support.

This. If that is what a woman wants, SAHM is best.

This is quite rude. Can we please have a mature discussion?
