I have a vort tomorrow night for a friends son. I would like to give a non expensive original gift. Any ideas? I live in Brooklyn if that helps.

We had a little booklet with 7 brachot and the cards came out so you could hand them out. We liked it so much we gave a few as gifts at vorts.

cutest gift I heard of was a small cookbook with a hammer tied to the front with a pretty ribbon.

That was just a joke about it being my son, by the way. Just in case you didn't get it. Wink

In our community, no one really gives vort gifts. The most we do is get together a group gift of silver , chocolates or household items wrapped nicely to send in and display at the vort. This is usually more appreciated than a bunch of small items that they will get anyway.
