2.5 year old is repeating a very bad curse word. She must’ve heard it in a video or something (now we are extremely careful). Any tips on how to stop from saying it. We are ignoring it for the most part But it’s not working.

Switch it around and repeat a new word over and over. For example if it starts with an F you say fudge pops, fudge pops, fudge pops, chant it, sing it, every time they say the curse word. They usually start copying the new word.

Yup it’s the F word. I’ve been trying that but not with a silly word. I’ll try it with a silly phrase Thanks

Does she do it because it's a bad word to get a reaction out of you?
Or she likes the sound if it? Randomly?

I don’t know if she knows it’s a bad word. I did prob give a reaction at first bc I was shocked… but she says it with another word (not a bad word- a name of a character).

I think a silly video someone was watching near her….like I said going forward being extremely careful. She is such a parrot.

If she doesn't know it's a bad word just ignore it and distract her.
If she does, I would deal with it differently.

My toddler did the same.
She said the word fork and it sounded like the F word. She got a reaction out of it so every time she was around new people or in public she would yell “fork” just for the attention.
Eventually we stopped giving her a reaction and she moved on.
