Corned beef deckle in plastic placed in cholent

Can corned beef deckle in the plastic be placed in the cholent in a crock pot? Will it come out soft even if taken out of plastic?

Most of them come in a heat proof plastic you can also wrap tightly in foil and parchment paper that works but sometimes water gets in
