Hi,
I'm starting to teach first grade kodesh for the first time. I've done first grade general studies for 6 years and subbed for kodesh several times.
In this school first grade focuses on kriah, learning early davening, shorashim, prefixes and suffixes.
I'm looking for ideas for creative ways to practice kriah and shorashim.
I like my classroom to have a lot of songs and games and stations
Also what are teachers daily schedules?
What does your first week of school look like?
First day lessons/ songs/ crafts
Please help a very nervous newbie 😓

Tora umesora is having a specialized kria course this summer. Maybe you should look into it.

Are you near a Torah Umesorah teacher's center?
They can help you tremendously

Feel out your community and ask around for an outstanding first grade morah.
My school had an amazing first grade morah who ran her class with centers, chants, creativity. She was a true star!!
She got married and moved to Lakewood. I wonder if she's teaching first grade there.
