Anyone have experience with her? I was told I’m wasting my money if I go anywhere else. Her fees are astronomical though. I would do it if she is really that amazing…

She is amazing! As an OT myself that has worked and dealt with many OTs in the field, there are many amazing OTs here. Some method that may work for one child won't work for another. I've worked in some clinics that charge well over 150 per session. Most of the good OTs charge a fortune and don't take any insurance. Does she do reflex integration? That does wonders with children and can really "heal" them. I've seen firsthand..

My daughters school insisted that she’s the only ot they work with so right now she’s not getting anything. I’m scared to even call and find out the price. Do u mind posting what they charge. Is it a different charge if u use someone who works under her.

Her therapists come to the school? I don't know with her personally but generally you'll get a therapist that works under her. Often the school would also subsidize the cost.

Really? Hmm I’d better talk to the assistant principal. It would all be out of pocket for me and I’m spending on so many other things for my daughter already.

It’s 575 for initial consult 🙈. And I think 170 per session.

Ouch Sad I thought some schools offered OT for free. There’s no way I can afford anything near that.

I live in lkwd and I’m on Jersey care and there is almost no way to get OT free.
There was one HMO which would have cover an OTA but it would have meant leaving my pediatrician and dentist which I wasn’t able to do..
my DD gets subsidized thru her school for $30 a session ..

I have used a private OT (with a great reputation) at $150 an hour and then switched to Children's Specialized in Toms River which is a $5 copay for me. Worth the drive. Excellent therapists. They work your child hard, are honest with the time - they don't shave off 5 min here, 5 min there, and are always prepared with new activities that foster new skills each session. Highly recommend. When ppl say extreme statements like "anyone else isn't worth your time" I am very skeptical. OT isn't advanced brain surgery. You don't have to kill yourself or take out a second mortgage to help your kid...

Are any of their OTs trained in reflex integration?

My OT at Children's has told me that reflex integration at least as of now, is not a recognized intervention. Its just a theory at this point. However, she does use elements of this theory in creating a protocol for each child. But as of now its not proven and they wouldn't say that they use reflex integration exclusively for a child's service plan. This is as I understood her. I'm repeating what I think I heard....

I started OT for my daughter 5 for sensory regulation. I called ZIva Kreiger Childrens Foundation and they listen and recommend the therapist who would be the best match. I am very happy with who they recommended but I am paying 130 a session

The therapy place takes a bunch of private insurances. Worth the call. Been extremely happy with ot and speech there.

Yes the childrens specialized therapists are fantastic. A few of them are just amazing. Now that my daughter is older the schlep is too hard to fit into her schedule. But I might have to do it anyway.

Yes the therapist I used there was horrified that people in Lakewood are wasting their money on something that doesn’t have research to back it up.

As an OT I am going to say you definitely shouldn't feel like a bad mom or be shamed if you can't afford to pay $90 a session, if not more. I would see if maybe one of these super OTs will consult with you and give you strategies and exercises of things you can do at home. Maybe you can bring your child once every few weeks and they can update their recommendations. So you may have to pay for an evaluation and a few sessions, but you won't have to pay for a weekly session because you will be doing it at home....thats if it's something you think you are willing to devote the time too.
