We hardly use Yiddish at all at home (dh and I are BTs and only get words here and there) but my son is just now adjusting to it.
I taught Schneur Shema and I can't help Saying Emes at the end instead of Emet...(even though the rest of my kriat shema is the Israeli pronounciation(for no other reason than that was the way I learned and it is easier for me)
He said "No, Ima, Emet, Emet"
Then one day he said "From now on, I will say Emes instead of Emet!
And he pointed to the picture of the Rebbe and said "From now on, I will say Rebbe instead of Rabbe (the way the Israelis say it)..."
I wonder what happened in gan to change his mind?
My FIL ob'm really wanted my son to learn Yiddish...iy'h I hope to find a tutor one day...once they master the Hebrew...
