So, I'm invited to a Bat Mitzvah tonight for 2 sisters. It's going to be a really fancy do in a nice hall. I can't afford to buy much so I bought two cute pink teddy bear -like thingies that sit on a shelf. They have a pocket for a cell phone or whatever. They only cost 25 shekels a piece (divide that by 3.8 for the dollar amount).
My husband thinks it's a joke. I say it's all I can afford. BTw, my 10 year old thinks it's a great gift. What do you think?
(Probably a dumb question, since I can't afford more anyway, but what the heck!)

I think its fine, girls love cute little things. and there is no rule that gifts have to be expensive.

What about stationary/pens. That could be not so expensive.

I think if you wrap it up nicely, ie-cellophane and pretty ribbon, almost any gift can look beautiful and worth more than it really is.

Perhaps add some matching accessories to it - maybe put a pink pen inside the pocket, as smiley mentioned.

Mazel Tov!

Yup, I got it in a store that wrapped it up nicely in transparent cellophane.
It looks cute and it'll have to do!
Thanks for the input.
