I just received something nice for my 4month old baby girl - and she´s stila little too small for that, so I guess it´s good for you.
It ´s a soft square that rattles softly (so not too noisy) when you move it, with different pictures/drawings/designs sewn on 3 sides, and a small miror on the 4th one.
Something like this:
  
 The same exists in hard plastic with different games on each side, but that´s starting from 12 months (and more expensive).
 Or a soft book in plastic for kids that can be wet and washed easily (and put into the mouth ha ha ha).
