...it's in the slot where the lint gets collected. (Don't ask how a spoon got there )
I know this is kind of a weird situation (ok, that's an understatement), but does anyone know how to get it out? It fell so far down that you can't reach it or even see it. Dh tried bending a hanger out of shape and reaching it in there, vacuuming, and practically taking the dryer apart...but we haven't manage to remove that spoon. Any ideas?

A strong magnet ?
What happens if you just leave it there ?
And be grateful - I once got a wax crayon in the dryer . Now THAT is a disaster. Till we found out all the laundry came out with blue dots all over.
And we had to run it loads of times to get rid of it all, as it had melted all over the drum

I once got a knife stuck in there while trying to clean out the lint. I stuck some more stuff in there to try and fish it out but they dropped in too. We never managed to get them out, but the dryer has been working fine since.

Aaah, so I am not the only one!
Nana18, we also have a stackable, & dh unscrewed the dryer, but still couldn't get the spoon out. He was in a bit of a rush though, so perhaps he'll try again after shabbos...
Greentiger, hmm so the stuff is in there & it isn't making a difference...that's good to know. Somehow, I would be afraid to run the dryer knowing that there's a metal spoon in there, though.

hm ... I would open it up with a socket wrench ... and take it out ... (not an erev shabbos job)
gosh that crayon thing once happened to me I put the laundry on hold and used an old towel and scrubbed the drum over and over till it eventually all came off ... I think mine was purple

I was in my mother's house and she said not to worry about it (also a stackable -Maytag). I think it made some funny noises but it's been over a year for sure and it's still working fine.

So far I read about a knife, fork and spoon stuck inside the dryer. Do all you people have your dryer in the kitchen then? I'm so glad I don't, because I've had enough dryer problems without that! We had to repair it at least twice so far.

TzenaRena, , yup I actually have the stackable in my kitchen, since our apartment is pretty tiny.
