We've been using the Scott foresman reading curriculum in our boys yeshiva school for years. It's now out of print and we are looking for new one.
We are a yeshivish school, that introduces ABC in pre 1a, but really teaches it in first grade. Third grade and up uses moskos press.
What do your schools use that you are happy with?

I guess the ones we got are out of print....

Read right is great program to teach reading, but what do you use for literary exposure and language arts components?

We use those with a combination of S F readers plus our own trade books.

Same here! As a first grade teacher for many years and a certified reading specialist I can tell u that there is no program thats made as well as the readright program. It's comprehensive and cumulative and simplistic. Kids love it and it makes the teachers job much easier as every phonics skill is clearly explained in detail with hints and pictures. For actual reading we use Sora gross's readers, Scott foresman and trade books.. it works out beautifully and the kids are really readers by the end of first grade.

Can you explain how.... don't you use first two books in first grade. You could use third book in second grade, but it won't take you far, then what do you use?

We use the first two books in first and the last book in second with lots of practice fluency sheets that we made to go along side the program in conjunction with her books and trade books.
