Upsherin a few days before pessach

I know it might seem abit early to think of my sons upsherin but I prefer to plan in advance than be stressed out. His upsherin is 2 days before pessach and I really wanted to make something nice. I was thinking of possibly having it outdoors but that time of year the weather is very unpredictable. I dont really want to have a pizza party. I feel I want something a little more than that. So, if anyone has any ideas of where I can have this party I would appreciate your help.

Approx. what time of the day do you plan on it being? You can do a bbq in a park if it's nice weather.

that's cute, you could even get one of those jumper bouncer things if your local city park permits you!!

yeah hannah. that is smart. not too many parks though that have one but rent a tent in that case.

they are good ideas but I honestly cant think of a park that has that option is I live in the monsey area.......if anyone can think of one please let me know. thanx

viola park has a gazebo type of space, if I recall correctly. you can ask them. eugene levy park does not have open space without trees to prop up a tent. maybe you wanna do it in haverstraw park. they do have larger areas.

hey creative my son waws born 7 nissan.... we waited till lag beomer to do his upsheren though I did the honey cake thingwith the rebbe in chder.... now who was time to backe a honey cake a week before pesach!! I made all pecklach non chometz and kitnius... bamba, chocolate etc. also there was no chametz... it was out the store!!!! I had teh same thing last year. this time I'll remember purim time to buy for his b-day.

now go ask how we put together a bris on serafas chametz day!! I assume your bris was chol hamoed or so right??

looking forward to his bar mitzva in 8 years LOL

hey, dont complain, my son's bar mitzva is ON pesach. I think we will wait til after to do the upsherin (maybe lag b'omer, depends on his hair) but we have 12.5 years to worry about the bar mitzva.

but imo the years fly by and before you know it it'll be around!!

ps my nephew was born on pesach... first day chol hamoed in chul.... and my sis also ahs 12 1/2 years till then though we bouth will be making bar mitzva very soon anyways...... well you could be my sister lol!!!

oh imo, my sister is in boro park and she's sleepining now...... well she has a common name. anyways you'll see her later on line... Yudit, she also gave birth this year on pesach, but our eldest boys are 6 months apart so she'll be making her first bar mitzva in about 4 1/2 years time and me a half a year later. so by teh time she gets to teh pesach baby ashe'll be quite experienced!!!!
