My 4 yr dd has become an expert potato peeler. After peeling the last potato I needed, she felt confident to tackle the carrots. She eagerly peeled off one peel, then hesitated before carefully peeling the second peel. Without looking up, dd asks, "Ma, what color are carrots on the inside?"

it's not that I don't worry about her safety... but this is the child who swings from the closet rod, climbs down the outside of the outdoor banister, walks upright down the slide and does flips into and out of the pack and play. I figure peeling is a good way to keep her in my sight and relatively still.

Yes, my active four year old is also interested in peeling.
In Hebrew, the word for peel is kelipah...
While he was peeling, he put on roundish shaped potato peel on his baby brother's head. I asked him "What is that"
he said "It's a kelipah kippah!"
