Anyone heard of making grilled cheese sandwiches in a frying pan on the stove?
How do YOU make grilled cheese?

Frying pan, or a toaster oven.

Oddly enough, almost never on a grill.

take two peices of rye bread or any bread, and butter outer sides, put cheese in the middle I like to put the baco bits in it too. then put in a frying pan and cook until each side is brown and crunchy

Pam spray a frying pan, put the sandwich in the pan, press down occasionally with a spatula. Turn over frequently. Keep going until the bread is brown and the cheese melted.

Yup, I spray a non-stick frying pan with Pam. If I want to be very bad, I'll coat the outside of the sandwich with margarine instead.

Put it on a low-med flame. I usually keep it on one side till it's brown, then flip it, and once it's brown on the other side it's good to go.

gotta add this story:

my sil asked my brother if he wanted grilled cheese and he said yes. so she took out her iron. my brother asked why she took it out and she replied "to make you grilled cheese"

seems she learned from her father-prepare the sandwich, wrap in aluminum foil, and iron-no mess to clean up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
