Have you ever written a letter of complaint/compliment to a company and gotten results?

Once Readers Digest sent me letter after letter about how I owed them money. I dont know where they got that from, im not even a subscriber. finally when they threatened me with a lawyer, I wrote them back a nasty letter, and they apologized profusely again and again.
thats my "success story."

My stroller cracked in half after 3 years of use. I called the company, and after speaking with the manger, not mean just forceful, I got a brand new one in the mail. I sold it on ebay and bought another stroller from a differernt company that I really wanted.

As a kid in camp I had time for these things. Used to call 800 numbers.
From time to time we had school assignments that included writing complaints to companies. (U really have to be persistent since they dont exactly make your problem their first priority.)

the bigger the company, the more success you are likely to have, I think. I had a coat from j.crew that wore out really fast (I thought) and they gave me another one, no problem. I also had some t-shirts that got these funny white stains on them after one wash and they replaced them too.

that is what happened to me with one of my strollers after about a year and I called the company literally screaming at them cause they refused to listen to me since that stroller was made two years before and I just got it and it only gives me a year warranty. anyhow after my whole deal I got the money back for it. and I never bought from their company again. too much aggrievation.
there are also times that I would call up a company and tell them how I love there product and they will send me coupons. once when I was not satisfied with the diapers they sent me in the mail coupons for five free packages of diapers and ten things of wipees in their company.

but j.crew is generally very acomidating in that way. you don't really have to prove your case.

If you have a legitimate complaint, companies are usually very helpful. The less costly the item, the nicer they usually are too.
I called a baby food company because their jars were so hard to open. They sent me this cool opener tool and a ton of coupons. I've also gotten chocolate replaced that had "bloom" on it (where the oil separates from the chocolate) and other items.

I once bought a sponge that looked like it had mold on it (still in the package). I called the company. they sent me 3 new sponges and an postage-paid envelope for me to send the defective one back to be "tested."
I also called playtex once when the plastic insert that keeps the sippy cup from leaking/spilling broke while I was cleaning it. they sent me 3 new ones, but told me they will only do that once- they may keep your name/address on record.

My in-laws do this all the time. They've gotten tons of free stuff from it. If you have a real complaint go for it. If you live in Israel though, (like we do) you will be less successful.

We got from:
Coke
Beigel&Beigel
Tnuva
Tara
Strauss
Shimrit
Berman Bakery
Angel's
and more!

I once found something in a packet from Osem [can't remember what], and they sent me a big box of Osem goodies.
And about a year ago I had 4 Titulim diapers without tape on. I called them up and they said to send them one, and they sent me a coupon to get a whole free packet. [I still had the rest of the original packet which was fine.]

Yup.
WHen DS was born and I bought a box of huggies that said they were good up to 14lbs. DS wore about twenty of the 244 box and then I had to buy size two. I sent an online complaint to the Kimberly-Clark Corp. and about six weeks later I got two coupons in the mail that were for 2 jumbo packs of huggies.
Recently, I bought a clorox mop from target that had pegs to keep the mop in place. The spring was broken and the pegs kept coming out. I wrote an onlin letter to clorox and about two weeks later I got a $15 gift card for any target.
