I've never had a housekeeper and neither has my husband. Our mothers did and still do everything and that's the way I've been doing things in my home. Until now. The time has come and I need some pointers.
How do I know if I can trust the person in my house and around my kids?
How do I find her? Do people use agencies or only specific people with recommendations from friends and neighbors?
What should I expect to pay her? I know it depends how often I need her, but is there a going rate per hour? I live in the Brooklyn area.
If there's anything you think I should know before getting started, please post! I feel that "little kid in a big pool" feeling when it comes to things like this since I have no one to guide me that I know of.
