What would the closest decent restaurants and Pizza shops be to Route 18 in East Brunswick or in between there and Lakewood?
Anything interesting to do there for two twenties young marrieds?

In highland park, there are a few restaurants on the main st. - I think it's Raritan Ave.
It's not too far from E. Brunswick.

There are also a couple of restaurants in Manalapan which is on the way to Lkwd (Highland park isn't on the way).
What kind of things do you have in mind to do?

How do the Manalapan Pizza shops compare to the Highland Park in Kashrus and choices?

As far as I know, there's one Pizza shop in each town.
kashrus - both considered reliable hechsherim. The places in Highland Park are under Vaad Harabonim of Raritan valley.
Levi's Pizza in manalapan is under Star K (just looked it up).
The place in H park is a fast food place Israeli style - borekas, falafel etc. They have good salads (at least the last time I was there more than 4 years ago). The one in Manalapan is more like a milchig restaurant - menus, waiters etc. But they both have Pizza and they both have a nice selection.
There are also Fleishig Chinese restaurants in both of these places with reliable hechsherim.
